About the event

The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew will provide the magnificent venue for this year’s Horticultural Apprentice and Trainee Discovery Day. National Trust and Kew ‘Young Horts’ alongside our various partner organisations have been helping us shape the day, based on feedback, adding new topics that should deliver a meaningful legacy for future generations. The day will be forward-focused, with elements of innovation and technology along with insights into practical horticulture on the Kew site.

You will participate in activities designed to help you think about your future career, and the profession of horticulture in general. How will training and knowledge sharing best provide for people, nature and our planet? Workshops, discussions and networking will generate ideas, and an end-of-day summary will be produced, including feedback to Government.

Networking Lunch will be provided with time to view innovative technology and displays, with the opportunity to learn more about careers in horticulture.

This joint initiative between the Royal Parks Guild, Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, National Trust, and The Tree Council through ‘Trees Call to Action’ funded programme is free of charge and open to apprentices and trainees working in all aspects of horticulture and allied professions.
